Pre-production

I presented two storyboards in class to get feedback. The second storyboard was chosen because the action remained in the centre. For the colours, I wanted something colourful and vibrant.

The vibrant neon colour palette was not working, as I felt they were starting to mix into each other the longer you looked at them. I decided to rework and make a bold purple and yellow palette instead, having the purple be more dominant colour.

Production

I created all my assets that would be 3D shapes in Illustrator to be brought into After Effects.

The phone has a screen side and a backside so the 3D extrude effect would not work for my purposes. I found a work around turning the 2D layers in space.

Animation

I added the call to action and a starburst effect to the background to add more visual interest to the advertisement.
